Iberia Airlines - Delayed and damaged baggage, terrible customer service

Last November I traveled with Iberia to Rio / Brazil for business. My luggage arrived only 3 days later and was totally damaged.

I incurred expenses for clothes and had to replace my damaged bag. In trying to receive compensation from Iberia over the last 5 months (!!) I got passed on from one department to another, and finally received a message from Iberia Costumer Relations telling me Iberia cannot provide any compensation whatsoever, not for the damaged baggage nor for the items I had to purchase.

I spent many hours dealing with this to no avail. Over the phone I was told no one can help me and was simply given the general customer phone number.

RE: Iberia New Airbus Order (For: Fleet Renewal Strategy - Ideas & Suggestions)

Greetings Mr. Perdiguero, I hope this email finds you well.

I am writing this message in regards to a new aircraft order that Iberia should announce in the near future. I understand that a new aircraft order would need to be made possible from top Executives from the airline, but I am calling for you to share these ideas with Iberia's Board of Directors, in order for these ideas to be put into fruition. The reason behind this order is to enable Iberia to rapidly modernize its fleet in order for the airline to reduce its average fleet age as well as to make the airline's average fleet age a lot younger. The airline should plan on placing orders for the following aircraft:

Airbus A220-100 Orders: 30 (To be flown with Iberia Regional, also known as Air Nostrum to replace entire CRJ fleet)

Airbus A220-300 Orders: 18 (12 units to be operated by Iberia Express as an A320-200 replacement, as well as 6 units for Iberia.

6 orders for Iberia to be leased from Air Lease Corporation)

Airbus A321neo Orders: 12 (To be operated by Iberia. To replace entire A321-200 fleet)

Airbus A321XLR Orders: 8 (8 out of 14 options to be converted into firm orders exclusively for Iberia)

Airbus A330-900neo Orders: 20 (To replace entire A330-300 fleet)

Airbus A350-900 Orders: 2 (To be leased from Air Lease Corporation)

Airbus A350-**** Orders: 20 (For capacity & fleet expansion. Not to serve as a replacement for older aircraft)

If Iberia ever goes ahead with a 90 single aircraft order, this order could mark a significant milestone for Iberia as this would be the largest single-aircraft order ever to be placed by the carrier. Iberia should seek to announce this huge order with Airbus at the upcoming 2024 Farnborough Airshow, with the order expected to be finalized in November.

This order would also mark a new era for Iberia, as the carrier would shift exclusively towards next-generation aircraft. Before Iberia can announce this historic order with Airbus, the airline would need to enter into discussions with Airbus starting in April regarding a 90 aircraft order for both narrowbody and widebody aircraft. This should include 82 aircraft to be purchased directly from Airbus, while 8 aircraft (6x A220-300 & 2x A350-900) should be leased from Air Lease Corporation. The carrier should expect to take delivery of its first A220-300 in late-2025, followed by its first A321XLR in January 2025, A321neo in 2026, A330neo in 2026, and A350-****, also in 2026.

The carrier should seek to take delivery of 6 A220's to be operated by Iberia between November 2025 and December 2025, as well as 2 leased A350-900's from ALC, also in December 2025. Its subsidiaries, Iberia Express and Iberia Regional (Air Nostrum) should welcome their first A220's in 2027. Iberia should expect all 90 aircraft in this order to be fully operational by their respective owners by 2032. Before Iberia can move ahead with this big order, the airline would need to make a $18 billion dollar investment with the International Airlines Group in list prices, before such a deal can even be announced.

I kindly ask Iberia and its Executives to put these suggestions into the table for consideration. I'm hoping to see Iberia go ahead with this huge 90 single-aircraft order as well as an expedited reply from you soon!

Iberia canceled my fully refundable outbound flight from LAX to MAD over a month ago and I can't get a refund. Customer Service keeps escalating the case to the back office, with no updates or resolution. I plan on emailing the CEO and disputing the charge with Amex, any other suggestions?

Waiting for a refund for over a year we could not change our tickets, tickets were cancelled and still did not receive our refund for the tickets it's over a year now. Emailed Iberia about 20 time or more now, every time the same story that the money was returned but still nothing, my bank wants proof that the money was refunded but can't get any proof from Iberia, worst service I ever received.

IM WAITING FOR A REFUND FROM IBERIA FOR OVER A YEAR NOW, THEY WANTED PROOF OF ALL DOCUMENTATION THAT I SEND THEM MONTHS AGO NOW THEY DONT ANSWER ANY OF MY EMAILS. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE WHY CAN AIRLINES SCAM CUSTOMER OUT OF MONEY THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND WHY DO THEY ALWAYS GET AWAY WITH THAT.

Have you seen this? An Iberia Airlines Customer Care Service employee, in all seriousness, insistently asks me to send a photo of my credit card on both sides to pay for something. After I refuse, he hangs up and stops answering questions. There was also a request to "find relatives or friends in England or Europe" so I could buy a seat with extra legroom because my country - Kazakhstan - is "not supported by our system". What is wrong with my country?

My business class flight from Berlin to Buenos Aires via Madrid (HGPGX) was a complete disaster. The flight from Berlin was one hour 15 minutes late departing (due to Iberia aircraft issues).

I had only 45 minutes (instead of 2 hours) in Madrid to make the connection. I made it to the gate on the other side of the airport just as they closed boarding. At 11pm, I had to find accommodation in Madrid overnight on my own without any assistance from the airline. Iberia offered to fly me to Buenos Aires 2 days later in Business class (Iberia would not cover any of my hotel expenses) or fly Economy the next morning.

I had no choice as I was meeting up with my group the next day in Buenos Aires.

Upon my return, I asked for compensation for the delay (600EUR) and for the reduction in class (75% of ticket price - 2.752USD) as per EU regulations.

I also requested compensation for the accommodation and taxi to/from Hotel on the day of the delay.

After 1 month they sent me a mail where they accepted "381 + 20 EUR" without any explanation on how they arrived at this figure. Nor would they provide any way of contacting them and have been ignoring my repeated attempts at getting any explanation.

Iberia delayed my baggage and then lost it then found it again but they never delivered it . The real issue was iberia customer service which did not care , still fighting for compensation. I usually fly klm and will never use iberia again
